Backwoods Toasted Apera Single Malt
Backwoods Toasted Apera Single Malt
This is an exclusive whisky made for Barrel Lane Whisky Club members. For Father's Day only, it's slipping out of the club.
It tastes like buttery toffee and sticky figs, unfolding into toasted nuts, smoked honey and creamy vanilla, with a long warm finish of soft chocolate and sweet spice. Even if whisky isn't your language, that's a list that needs no translating.
It comes from Leigh and Bree Attwood at Backwoods, in Victoria's High Country, and it's a one-off by design. The casks spent decades holding Apera, Australia's answer to sherry, at one of the country's oldest fortified wine houses, and casks like these almost never come free. Leigh re-coopered every barrel by hand, filled them once, and that was that. It was made once, and when it's gone there is no more.
Which makes this the rarest gift on the page: a bottle he can't buy, can't find, and will never see again.
Beautifully boxed and gift-ready on arrival. All you have to do is hand it over.
