For every monthly gin, our tasting panel works through an abundance of tonics in search of the right match. Sometimes we’ll reconvene four or five times before everyone is happy. Months later, when that gin finally launches and we make the G&T again, there’s something immensely satisfying about taking that first sip and thinking:
yep, we got it.
And 2026 has given us plenty to play with.
We’ve moved from the savoury and coastal to the bright and citrusy, discovering everything from boobialla and blood orange to apple and honey, silky pomelo and macadamia, and our first colour-changing feature with a butterfly pea gin. We’ve poured higher-ABV releases, explored Old Tom styles, returned to a few member favourites and introduced brand-new releases – including several made exclusively for Garden Street.
That diversity is something we’re particularly proud of. Australian craft distillers continue to find fascinating new ways to approach gin, at a time when the industry itself is doing it tough. Rising costs and tighter household budgets have made this a challenging period for many small producers. It makes our original purpose feel as relevant as ever: connecting curious gin drinkers with small Australian makers and, hopefully, helping someone discover a new favourite along the way.
