Doctor Hot Toddy

Doctor Hot Toddy

This lighter version of the traditional 'Hot Toddy' uses a herbaceous gin full of fresh botanicals instead of whisky and freshly squeezed orange juice instead of freshly squeezed lemon juice. The hot water really opens up the gin's botanicals, with the aroma helping to soothe the symptoms of a cold. The orange juice pairs well with the honey, with the added advantage of more Vitamin C. So all in all, a perfect drink as we move into Autumn and cold season. Plus, the taste is quite simply "YUM"! Just what the doctor ordered!

- 50ml the Doctor Gin

- 1 tsp Honey

- Juice of 1/2 Orange

- 200ml of Boiling Hot Water

- 1 Cinnamon Stick

Add the honey, gin and some of the orange juice into a mug or heatproof glass. Add the hot water and stir until the honey’s dissolved, adding more orange juice or more hot water if needs be. Finally, garnish with a cinnamon stick.

If you want to experiment a little and enhance the flavours, try adding additional garnishes to suit your tastebuds! We’d recommend playing around with pear, star anise, lemon, orange and/or rosemary to find your perfect taste combination.
