If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to say ‘I Love You’ this Valentines Day, whip up a gift for your special someone with a personalised chocolate bark!
The combinations are endless, and make an easy treat to pair with this month’s Tinberry G&T. Toast up your (or your recipient’s) favourite nuts, thinly slice some candied citrus or finely chop dried fruits or lollies.
INGREDIENTS
- 400g high quality chocolate
- Zest of 1/2 an orange (or candied citron)
- 3/4 cup toppings of choice
- Flaked sea salt
METHOD
Start by lining a small, rimmed baking tray with baking paper. Chop your chocolate into fine pieces.
Place the chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl (separating dark, milk and white chocolate into different bowls, if desired). Melt in 30-second increments, stirring the chocolate each time. It should only take a couple of minutes to get the chocolate completely smooth and shiny.
Pour melted chocolate onto your prepared baking tray. Spread out evenly with a spatula or the back of a spoon, or swirl gently with a toothpick.
Evenly spread over your toppings of choice, orange zest and salt, gently pressing down into the chocolate to adhere.
Let sit for an hour in a cool, dry place, or cover tightly and store in the fridge for 15 minutes. Once hardened completely, gift whole or break into pieces.
