Moonshiner Distillery is a small-batch co-operative distillery based in Marrickville, in the heart of Sydney’s inner west. Built by a group of friends with a shared love of gin, the distillery grew from late-night experimentation into a collaborative operation known for bold flavours and contemporary Australian spirits.
Every release reflects the team’s creative approach, combining expressive botanicals with strong ties to local culture. Small production runs, hands-on experimentation and a passion for community continue to shape everything Moonshiner creates.
SIGNATURE STYLE
Moonshiner’s style is bright, modern and flavour-forward. Golden Grove Street: Pomelo & Macadamia Gin showcases the distillery’s love of bold botanical combinations, balancing fragrant citrus with smooth, buttery richness.
Built around pomelo sourced from a friend’s property on Sydney’s southern outskirts, the gin layers gently bitter citrus with macadamia, dried apricot and native botanicals. Floral citrus leads on the nose, while the palate delivers silky nuttiness, soft spice and delicate sweetness wrapped around classic juniper structure.

Alongside Golden Grove Street, Moonshiner’s range showcases the distillery’s bold botanical style and experimental spirit. Margaret Street Signature Gin remains the flagship release, combining classic juniper with native Australian citrus and spice. Commodore Street Navy Strength Gin delivers a more intense expression, while Ferndale Street Maple Barrel Rested Gin introduces warming oak and subtle sweetness.

THE MARRICKVILLE GIN BAR
Moonshiner’s tasting room offers a relaxed neighbourhood gin bar experience tucked inside the distillery itself. Open Saturdays, the intimate Marrickville space combines colourful street-art energy with guided tastings, cocktails and casual G&Ts served just metres from where the spirits are distilled.
Guests can explore tasting flights, cocktail sessions and immersive gin experiences designed to showcase how botanicals, garnishes and tonics influence flavour. It’s approachable, welcoming and perfectly reflective of Moonshiner’s creative inner-west personality.
