Simply Smashing
Smashes are a type of cocktail that muddle fresh herbs and/or citrus. This Small Acre Smash is refreshing and vibrant with uplifting basil and lemon. Anyone can make and enjoy this top-quality cocktail with some common pantry and fridge staples – and voila! Casual elegance.
SMALL ACRE BASIL SMASH
Small Acre Basil Smash
INGREDIENTS
- 60ml Ambleside Small Acre Gin
- 30ml Lemon juice
- 22.5ml Simple syrup
- 5-6 Large basil leaves
- Soda water
GARNISH
Cucumber Ribbon
Sprig of Basil
METHOD
Combine all ingredients except soda and cucumber into a cocktail shaker
Muddle, then add ice and shake well
Double strain into a chilled coupe glass
Top with soda, garnish with cucumber ribbon and a sprig of basil

This gin is a nod to you, our members. We’ve tasted hundreds of delicious Australian gins over the years and every year our tasting panel has the (really terrible) job of choosing their 12 favourite gins to share with you. It’s tough competition and they’re a very picky bunch!
Twelve months ago, we floated the idea of making something exclusively for our members; something one off and never to be repeated. It needed to be something for the collectors to add to their gin shelves and moreover, we had to make a product we were proud to share, and one delicious enough to get past our tasting panel!
